Julia Bodzioch

In the “Embodiments” series, Julia Bodzioch creates an intriguing tale of biological conditioning of our existence and the secrets of life. She takes us on an emotional journey inside the human body. She is successful in transposing biological formations into fascinating painting visions, converting the organism’s interior into images of human experience and passion. In the author’s note, the artists writes: “The human body is an arena of incessant battles of conflicting cravings. Its structure, in turn, is a tool of constant attempts to adapt to the reality in which it has to function. Because of the progress in genetics and medicine, as well as globalization and excessive role of mass media, today’s world appears as an unlimited opportunity to self-create one’s own image. My painting results from the observation of this problem.”

“Embodiments” was the artist’s diploma series. In her new paintings, Julia Bodzioch shows the emotions of her contemporaries, their spiritual condition, reflecting on their everyday life, needs and expectations. It leads to a deeper reflection on the current social atmosphere.
