Katarzyna Szeszycka

born in 1983
2008     Diploma with honours, prof. Anna Tyczyńska’s drawing studio, prof. Andrzej Leśnik’s painting studio, Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań.
Her scope includes painting, video and city space actions.
Assistant in prof. R. Tokarczyk’s painting studio.
2011     Invitation to the project Szczecin Ambassador.
Works in Polish and international collections, as well as individual and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad.

Katarzyna Szeszycka
The artist’s works follow the current trend in painting, in which the picture is based on a prior photographic image. It is worth mentioning, however, that Szeszycka has managed to subordinate this medium to her own painting concept, thus avoiding simplistic labelling in the times when this manner of presentation has become so overexploited.
